Miki Valente is a certified specialist in estate planning, trust, and probate law who helps individuals and families create thoughtful estate plans that protect assets, preserve family legacies, and provide peace of mind.
Known for her warm, collaborative approach, Miki guides clients through every stage of estate planning and trust administration, combining deep legal knowledge with a practical understanding of the personal and emotional considerations that often accompany these matters. Her experience includes sophisticated wealth transfer planning, trust and estate administration, real property matters, and related tax issues.
Before founding her private trusts and estates practice in 2008, Miki was a partner in the Trusts & Estates Department of a prominent Palo Alto-based law firm. She is among a select group of attorneys certified as specialists in Estate Planning, Trust and Probate Law by the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization and is also a California real estate broker.
Miki earned her J.D. from Boston College Law School, where she received the Presidential Scholarship Award, and graduated summa cum laude from the University of Michigan with a B.A. in English Language and Literature. She was an Angell Scholar, a member of Phi Beta Kappa, and recipient of the Branstrom Prize for academic excellence.
Committed to serving her community, Miki has volunteered with numerous local organizations and regularly presents educational workshops on estate planning for community and senior groups. Outside of her practice, she enjoys running, swimming, live music, comedy, card games, and her daily Wordle fix. Most of all, she values time with her children and maintaining an active, balanced life.
